Sophrology is an alternative medicine technique that can be described as psycho-corporal because it works on body and mind. It uses a combination of techniques that can be dynamic, as well as relaxation, breathing, and visualizations, aimed at promoting well-being and reducing stress. Quelles sont les techniques et méthodes utilisées par le sophrologue?

What techniques and methods are used by the sophrologist?
A sophrology session takes place in several stages. First, the sophrologist asks the person questions to get to know them better and understand their issues. Then, they explain the session process and the techniques that will be used, as well as the desired objective. Sophrology sessions are generally conducted in a sitting or standing position, with eyes closed, to allow for introspection without falling asleep. In the case of pregnant women, they often take place in a lying position. They can also be dynamic and playful, depending on the profile, state of health and age of the person. Afterwards, the sophrologist invites the patient to practice exercises, which may include, for example, deep breathing, muscle relaxation exercises and dynamic relaxation with gentle movements.
The session ends with a discussion called phenodescription, during which the sophrologist talks with the patient about their impressions. The duration of the sessions varies:
• 1 hour for an adult and for a first session for a child or teenager
• 45 minutes for a follow-up session for a child or a teenager.
