Discover the world of Caycedian sophrology and psy-digitopuncture

Updated: Jun 19, 2023

Caycedan sophrology is a technique that was developed by Alfonso Caycedo, a Spanish neuropsychiatrist of Colombian origin, in 1960. The goal of Caycedian sophrology is to help people achieve heightened awareness, which can lead to better physical and mental health. The technique involves a series of exercises that focus on breathing, visualization and body awareness.

Caycedian sophrology is not an exotic branch of sophrology, it is authentic sophrology. Working with a Caycedan sophrologist who holds a Master's degree in sophrology means choosing a therapist who has undergone more than 3 years of training, which includes writing 4 dissertations, attending weekly personal training sessions for 2 years, 4 internships in Spain, lots of exciting face-to-face courses, regular written exams, an oral exam with a role-playing situation... We are far from online express trainings, which are so common nowadays!

How can sophrology be beneficial for your physical and mental health?

Sophrology can be beneficial for your physical and mental health in several ways. By practicing the techniques regularly with a Caycedian sophrologist, you can reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, strengthen your immune system and increase your overall sense of well-being. Sophrology can also help you manage chronic pain, improve your concentration and enhance your sports performance. Among many other things.

Sophrology and psy-digitopuncture

Why am I also talking about psy-digitopuncture? In fact, while I was training in sophrology, I also discovered this method. I found it fascinating and decided to train in it as well. I propose it in a combined way with sophrology.

That is to say that I do not mix the two techniques but according to the preference of the person and what seems to me best at the moment (according to your state of mind or fatigue of the day...), I will propose either sophrology or psy-digitopuncture. Often I propose both in fact but not always in the same order.

It is important to know that contrary to what people sometimes believe, sophrology is not practiced sitting down. No, because it is not relaxation! What could be simpler than lying down with a little soft music to relax you? Indeed, sophrology aims at becoming aware of yourself, so falling asleep cannot be an objective of the session. On the other hand, you have the right to fall asleep of course and it happens sometimes. We therefore work sitting and standing. In psy-digitopuncture, on the other hand, the work is only done lying down.

What is psy-digitopuncture and how does it work?

Psy-digitopuncture is a technique that combines acupressure and the release of emotional blockages to promote physical and emotional healing. It involves applying pressure to specific points on the body, similar to acupuncture, while incorporating techniques for releasing emotional blockages through verbalization. The pressure applied to these points can help release tension and blockages in the body's energy pathways, promoting emotional and psychic healing.

In addition, psy-digitopuncture can help relieve physical and emotional pain and promote healing.
